No, compressed archive would show any significant improvement, if any.

I've only reviewed one Pace modem, the 56 Voice., I liked it so much I
bought one after it went back. I also had two Solos and sent them back.
They later sent me one for review but had the sense to go bust before
I unpacked it :-/

I've no experience of the PCMCIA range.

I went their with the Solo (it was my own, bought from Active). They
basically admitted that they didn't make it and didn't have much idea
of what went on inside the box.

I'm not sure how relevant that would be. The size and profitability of a
company is no reflection on their willingness or ability to deliver a
good service. Small companies often provide a much better service than
the biggies.
